Black Bird Butter Dish. A classic covered butter dish with a twisted loop handle. These butter dishes measure 4 inches tall and 5 by 9 inches wide. They fit both the standard and the longer European butters. The handle makes it easy to remove the top even if your fingers get buttery.
Black Bird is one of our most popular patterns. The rich, dark brown is the natural color of the clay. The bird and branch are painted in a deep cobalt black, and then I use a squeeze bottle with a pen tip to draw the ivory outline. It has a very folkloric feel.
