Black Bird Sugar Jar. We call it a sugar jar but it works equally well for a salt cellar, tea jar or anything else you want to keep covered. It measures 5 1/2 inches tall by 4 1/2 inches wide and holds 2 cups. It comes with a handmade Pewter spoon by our friends at Crosby Taylor in Eugene.
Black Bird is one of our most popular patterns. The rich, dark brown is the natural color of the clay. The bird and branch are painted in a deep cobalt black and then I use a sqeeze bottle with a pen tip to draw the ivory outline. It has a very folkloric feel.
