Silk Road pasta bowl. The pasta bowl is painted on the inside and rim and is natural terra cotta on the outside. The bowl measures 11 inches wide by 3.5 inches tall. It is a great size for serving salads, pastas and much more. Very striking! Our Silk Road patten was inspired by the ancient trade route that brought trade goods but also knowledge and culture from the far east to Europe in the middle ages. The world would never progressed without the mixing of cultures. The edge and the background are Chinese, the flowers are from ancient designs of Persia, India and Egypt. The small blue flowers are British wildflowers.

TThese patterns are our most highly decorated and detailed pieces. The are hand thrown and molded. We then paint these with many coats of color. Each flower may have up to 50 paint strokes! They are works of love and are really special. The painting is inspired by old pottery from many cultures. They aren't copies but inspired by the genius of long gone potters.
